An NFC alarm: stop it by scanning a tag

Scamper is an NFC alarm for iPhone. It rings until you scan an NFC tag that you've stuck somewhere away from your bed, such as the kitchen or the bathroom. Any NFC sticker with a readable serial works, and pairing takes one scan.

How it works

Pair a tag once by holding your iPhone near it. Set an alarm as usual. When it rings, Stop just rings again until you walk to the tag and scan it. Scamper reads only the tag's serial number, so the tag needs nothing written on it.

Why a tag beats snooze

Missions like math puzzles can be solved half asleep in bed. A tag can't come to you: by the time you reach it you're standing up, in another room, with the light on.

  • No puzzles to solve at 6 a.m.
  • No gadget to charge or buy from us.
  • Works with the same sticker for years.

When you can't reach the tag

Hold No tag? and walk 50 steps instead, or use the 60-second emergency unlock. Away from home, Stop works normally.

Questions

Can I set an NFC alarm on my iPhone?

Yes. With Scamper on iOS 26 you pair an NFC sticker and the alarm only stops when you scan it. Apple's built-in Clock app can't require a scan; Shortcuts automations can react to a tag but can't keep an alarm ringing until you scan.

What is the best NFC alarm app?

It depends on whether you want to buy hardware. Flow uses its own NFC Dock. Scamper works with any NFC sticker and also locks your apps until you scan. See the comparisons for the details.

Which NFC tags work?

Any NFC sticker with a readable serial, such as NTAG213, NTAG215 or NTAG216. Use an on-metal tag on a fridge or metal door.

Mornings, sorted.

Scamper works with any cheap NFC sticker. Free to download when it lands on the App Store.
